FREE GLUCOSE TEST

On Wednesday, November 19, 2008 between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, Coast Plaza Doctors Hospital is offering free glucose tests to its neighbors.

This simple test measures the amount of glucose, a certain kind of sugar, in your blood. It’s often the first step in diagnosing conditions such as diabetes (high blood sugar), hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and hormone disorders.

Plan to spend about 10 minutes for your free test. Upon arrival, we will ask that you fill out a medical form. A Coast Plaza nurse or lab technician will take a small amount of blood from your finger and the results will be ready in a few seconds.

While you’re here, you can discuss the results with a nurse and pick up information on diabetes and other conditions that cause abnormal blood sugar levels.

The Free Glucose Test will take place at the Coast Plaza Doctors Hospital Conference Center at 13100 Studebaker Rd., one driveway south of the main hospital driveway (click to see map). Individuals who are undiagnosed with diabetes might suffer from fatigue, blurred vision, tingling in the hands and feet, and individuals who have other medical conditions are encourage to take advantage of this free test. We’re your neighborhood hospital and we want to see you healthy!
