Specializing in pelvic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Carreon brings a unique skill set with more than 25 years of international experience to his current role as a medical expert for the state of California. Having graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Saint Augustine in Arequipa, Peru, with both Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees, Dr. Carreon finished his internship at Elyria Memorial Hospital in Elyria, Ohio. He then completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Menorah Medical Center, University of Kansas in Kansas City, Missouri, and a residency in General Surgery at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado.

Dr. Carreon is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Gynecologists, the California Medical Association, the Los Angeles County Medical Association, the Peruvian Medical Association, and the American College of Physician Executives. He has also served as a board member for the Latin Business Association.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Carreon takes a culturally adaptive approach to healthcare, combining years of medical experience with an interest in developing and managing healthcare business opportunities in Hispanic markets. His range of expertise incorporates medical practice management, program development, operations and leadership, and government liaison. Since 2002, Dr. Carreon has served as president of International Health Consultants in Los Angeles, where he consulted with Peru’s Secretary of Health, providing program recommendations for the development of women’s health initiatives. He has also founded Clinica-El Golf, a private hospital located in Lima, Peru. In November 2008, Dr. Carreon was appointed Member of the Medical Board of California by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
